Countdown Theater is a roaming, improv-focused pop-up space based in New York City. We seek out non-traditional venues, rent them for short periods, and program unique shows, classes, and media projects loosely guided by a central theme. Though we emphasize improv, we welcome participants from across the artistic spectrum.

The first version of Countdown Theater ran from February 1, 2017 to March 16, 2017, in the basement of a mixed-use building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Shows ran on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights at 8:30 PM. The theme was community. The next version of Countdown Theater will pop up sometime during the summer of 2017.

How to (formerly) find us

As of April 2017 these directions are no longer relevant, but we’ll keep them up for posterity’s sake. The space is located at 141 S. 5th St., Office West, Unit #2. The building is a couple of doors down from the Annoyance Theater.

Look for the yellow sign that says Office West, descend the stairs, and hit the buzzer for #2. Once you’re inside the building, our door has a tiny stopwatch on it.

Here’s a photo of what to look for. Note the yellow sign reading “Office West” and the pink arrow reading “Countdown Theater.” Follow both of those signs down the stairs:
